About Operation New Uniform
Operation New Uniform (ONU), a 501c3 nonprofit, was founded in 2014 to serve the needs of transitioning servicemembers from all branches of service with the goal of helping them find their “new uniform,” their new career in the business world.
What began ten years ago as an opportunity for one veteran in the Jacksonville, Florida area to go through a Sandler Training class to build his sales skills has resulted in a transition program that has served over 500 veterans and military spouses from across the United States. ONU’s proprietary approach is designed to meet students where they are physically, emotionally, and mentally in their transition. At ONU, we help our veteran students realize their value, their worth, separate and apart from the military’s team mentality to which they are accustomed. For our spouses, we support their need to find their individual identity. This life-changing, person-centered approach is what makes Operation New Uniform the only program of its kind.
For veterans, we offer in-person classes at our headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida and in our satellite location in Tampa, Florida. If students do not live in the area and there is class availability, they can participate virtually. The classes take place Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. For veterans in need of an online, self-paced program, we offer multiple options throughout the year. At present, we only offer in-person classes for military spouses in Jacksonville on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 – 8 p.m. If spouses do not live in the area and there is class availability, they can participate virtually. A full schedule of classes and their corresponding graduations can be found on this website.
Operation New Uniform, a transformative transition assistance program, is provided free of charge to qualifying applicants thanks to the generosity of our corporate supporters and donors.
